Fact + Friction is a content consulting company, run by
award-winning producer Ron Carroll.


We work with creatives in the UK, USA, Canada, and now Australia.


Our expertise is format development, selling strategy, series launches and fixes.


We work across a range of genres, including branded storytelling.

We have been at the helm of popular formats, including series producing 40 episodes of Undercover Boss, the hit Netflix glassblowing competition Blown Away,  Gogglebox for North America, and BBC3's Big Proud Party Agency.

Whatever your story needs, whatever size your project, we can help bring your show to screen.

As a response to tightening budgets, and at the increasing request of clients, we now offer full or half-day creative guidance and support sessions. We can work with your existing development team - in the room or on zoom. We can also work independently, taking a headline idea, creating a format and turning it into a fully fleshed-out pitch deck, ready to sell!

We can craft a show bible, script a show and troubleshoot an edit, VO record, sound mix and delivery. We're cost-effective, practical and productive, especially for indies with challenging resources. 

Fact + Friction was launched in 2009.  Awards and nominations include a British Royal TV Society Award, a Canadian Screen Award and several American Telly Awards for softly-branded storytelling.
